Lenny Kravitz designed a whole floor for this much needed, hipper than hip new hotel in the heart of Toronto’s entertainment district. The Kravitz rooms fill up fast; luckily the rest of the hotel is uber terrific too!The lobby welcomes with crushed velvet, etched gold, black marble and a shocking pink Jeff Koons sculpture. This edgy glamour permeates the whole place but never at the expense of service or comfort. Art Deco armoires were custom designed; kick back on a velvet couch. The bed and pillows were fabulous. Our huge room service order arrived in 15 minutes with perfectly poached eggs…always tricky. The 44th floor houses the pool, Baja- inspired Kost restaurant and amongst the best views in the city.Truly outstanding.Add a pitcher of Manny’s Margs for the perfect afternoon whatever the season. Sophisticated Mr. C Lobby Bar is decorated with framed Damien Hirst collection Alexander McQueen scarves and serves $1 oysters, half priced Champagne and live music every Tuesday.Michelin starred chef Akira Back’s eponymous upscale restaurant is a must try, take the gold stairs not the elevator… His first foray in Canada serves his signature Japanese with a Korean twist menu. The food was stellar, the see and be seen crowd fun; the staff well informed! Bisha is the perfect place for that beyond trendy outfit you’ve been dying to wear, though anyone in jeans and a t shirt is equally welcome. The concierge was amazingly helpful.
