An educational tour can be fun, too! The Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas is open to the public and has activities and information for budding astronauts or anyone looking for a new and interesting experience.

“The Eagle has landed”.

These words, spoken by Neil Armstrong immediately following the moon landing on July 20 of 1969, have become one of the most iconic phrases of our generation. It was the control room at the Johnson Space Center in Houston that received the call, and recorded the biggest advancement of human evolution for centuries to come.

The Mission Control base opened in 1961, and has been the anchor for many more space adventures throughout the years. As a result, the center has built up a respectable collection of space related exhibits, including moon rocks from the first moon landing, rocket park, and the development of the space suit.

The family-friendly center has an amazing 5-story screen where you can watch the steps of an astronaut, from the beginning of training, to the end of the mission. You can also take part in many of the hand-on activities available, or experience a simulated space launch.
