I recently visited the area of Lowcountry, South Carolina for a business trip. My trip allowed me to visit the stunning Montage Palmetto Bluff for 3 nights - located just 25 miles from the Savannah International Airport.
The Montage is set amongst 20,000 acres of pristine natural beauty. The resort includes nature preserves, walking & biking trails, a marina, fantastic restaurants, a thriving village, and a Jack Nicklaus signature golf course.
Whether you are travelling alone, with a friend or loved one or the whole darn family, there is plenty to keep y’all occupied. Golfing, fishing (freshwater or salt water), shooting, kayaking, SUP, and spa services are readily available. Children are welcome guests at the Montage and all of the activities have equipment and programs scaled to “kid size”.
Meet May – one of the three dogs that make the Montage their home. May loves walks and treats!
Each evening from 5:00pm - 5:30pm the hotel hosts their “Heirloom Series” by the fire pit which features Montage chefs preparing samplers of traditional southern cuisine, including shrimp and grits + a lowcountry boil. Just a couple of the offerings while she was there.Yummy!
I was staying in a guest room in the main hotel building, but spacious cottages and village homes are available as well for those needing more space or privacy.
The village homes have two night minimum stays (with some peak period exceptions) which is an unusual and attractive change from many home rentals which require at least a 7 night commitment.

At the end of the day, make sure you take your lemonade outside and indulge in some “porching” – defined as “the spontaneous social activity that originates when people gather on porches”.
There’s no better way to end your perfect day at the Montage.
